In 2008 Whitehaven Harbour Commissioners commissioned Vista to make a project to celebrate the 300th anniversary of their founding. Christian worked with Jonathan Lynch Photography to make a suite of portraits of the harbour’s employees and a set of portraits of the commissioners themselves. The portraits were exhibited at the Beacon Museum over the summer while the company records were taken unsorted from the Lowther Street H.Q. and placed in the centre of the gallery. During the course of the exhibition a group portrait of the commissioners and a group portrait of the employees was made amongst the company records which cover the whole life of the company. This was then exhibited outside in the harbour on the Ice plant building. The project is documented in a flickr slideshow.
