Vista Projects worked with Mid-Pennine Arts and United Creatives in 2008 & 9 to create a suite of proposals for the West Accrington Housing Market Renewal Area. These included plans for ceramic faience, street signs and furniture, plans for an artist-in-residence for empty and occupied shops and plans for a creative ecologist-in-residence (just made that up) to work on a biodiversity strategy for the area that would step away from the usual mechanisms adopted for the urban soft estate.
