Christian has been commissioned by POPL to propose a project connected to Accrington’s allotments. As part of the project Chris has visited all of Accrington’s allotments and has developed a project to create imagery based on them. The project was proposed as a partnership with the Prospects Foundation. The imagery will focus on the character of the allotments themselves.
We are currently searching for exhibition sites for large scale imagery in both galleries and the public realm.
It is proposed to create imagery from a position of height setting the allotments in the wider Pennine landscape in order to minimise the impact of tree cover and look at the built structures which populate the allotments. It is proposed to create these images in late January and February 2012. Christian will be working with Jonathan Lynch.
